Artwork Care

Terrain Frames

Our Terrain Frames are created out of PLA thermoplastic and paperboard, and as a result, must be handled with some care:

  • They must be kept below 130°F/55°C; above this temperature, the plastic will be permanently deformed. This means they cannot be left in hot cars or in direct sunlight in warm climates.
  • The paperboard is uncoated and is sensitive to both humidity and water. This means the artwork must be kept away from any areas with potential water splashes or very high humidity (such as bathrooms).

In general, we recommend you mount the artwork on a wall or place it on a hard surface inside, away from direct sunlight.

If the backing board or frame does get damaged, it is likely possible to remount the artwork itself onto a new one; contact us at support@scaledindustries.com and we'll try to help.

Coasters

Our coasters are unglazed ceramic, finished with UV printing on one side and a non-slip cork backing on the other side.

The printed UV surface is wipe-clean; however, due to the unglazed nature of the ceramic, do not immerse the coasters in water or try to clean them in a sink or dishwasher.

Posters

Our posters are printed on archival-grade paper with high-quality inks that resist fading; however, despite this, they are still paper and thus sensitive to humidity.

We recommend you keep them indoors, out of high-humidity areas (such as bathrooms) and away from direct sunlight. Framing them will help them last significantly longer; if you are in the US, we are happy to recommend frame suppliers we trust.
